Episode 503 – “Jughead”
We start with Desmond running through some Tibetian marketplace desperately looking for someone. When he finds him they race back to the boat where Penny is giving birth. She has a baby boy, we are in the past. In 2007, Des is telling his son about a special island, called Great Britain and how its where his Daddy is from. Penny says it’s also the place his grandfather is and it’s very dangerous for them to be anywhere near him. Des promises Penny that all he has to do is go and find Daniel Faraday’s mother and warn her about Daniel and they’ll go far away from here.

Des goes to Oxford but there is no record of Faraday in their history. Des investigates and goes to the office where he first met Daniel. Everything is under quarantine and covered up, a janitor spots Des and tells him that of course people are trying to forget Daniel after what he did to the “poor girl”. Des goes to find out about the girl, her name is Teresa and she is in a comatose state, believing she is in a different time that what she really is. Des is told that Teresa wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for Mr. Widmore who had paid for everything that is sustaining Teresa’s life.

Des then goes to see Charles Widmore, he demands to know where Daniels mother is and Charles gives him an address in Los Angeles. Charles tells Des that the business he is getting involved in has been going on for many, many years and it isn’t safe. He must protect Penny, to go back and hide where ever he’s been hiding and stay there. Back with Penny Des says Daniels mother is dead. Penny knows he’s lying and so Des says she is in LA. He says its over, he promised her one day and no more but Penny knows they can’t let it rest so they agree to all go to LA.

On the island Miles, Charlotte and Daniel arrive at the creek with some other survivors. Miles spots a trip wire but its too late, some others get blown up and a bunch of soldiers appear and take Miles, Charlotte and Daniel hostage. They transport them back to their camp where they are paraded in front of Richard Alpert. He thinks they are marines, Dan says they are scientists. Richard said they started the war, it was the US military who dropped the bomb on their island and when he asked them to leave and they refused, he had to kill them. Daniel says he is here to defuse the bomb they have, Richard wants to know how he can trust them. Dan confesses he loves Charlotte and says he would never do anything to hurt her. Richard asks Ellie to transport Dan to the bomb.

Meanwhile Locke, Sawyer and Juliet are discussing what to do with their captives. The hostages speak latin to each other and Juliet recognises what they say. She says she knows because they are Other’s and they all speak Latin. Juliet asks them to take them to Richard Alpert and when one of the soldiers says the camp is East, the other breaks his neck and runs off. Sawyer wants to know why Locke didn’t shoot him and he says its because he is one of Lockes people. They trail the soldier to the camp.

Sawyer wants to go rescue Daniel as they see him being carted off by Ellie but Locke wants answers from Richard. Locke walks off and screams for Alpert. He is held at gunpoint by the Others. Richard appears and Locke says he was sent by Jacob so Richard asks the others to lower their guns. One refuses so Alpert tells him forcefully to “lower your weapon, Widmore”. Locke instantly recognises him as Charles Widmore.

Locke tries to explain the situation to Alpert and asks how he gets off the island. Richard says only special people can do that and so Locke explains to him to go and find him as a child. Locke gives Alpert back the compass (remember episode 411 – “Cabin Fever”? Funny how Richard tested Locke with the compass thinking it meant something to him and Locke does the same all those years later with the roles reversed!) and then the light comes back and engulfs the island.

Before time skips Daniel inspects the bomb and sees it has a leak. He tells Ellie they need to bury it in concrete (the four toed statue?) and lead and it’ll be safe. She wants to know how he can be so sure, he says because in fifty years the island is still there. He says he recognises Ellie. After the flash they all regroup, the camp has gone. Charlotte and Daniel embrace but she falls to the floor, blood pouring from her nose.

Very confusing episode which only raises a lot of questions that are already flooding forums everywhere. Is Ellie Ms. Hawking? How did young Charles get on the island? Is Charlie Hume Charles Widmore? Where did the bomb go? Is it the four toed statue?

Episode 202 – “A New Cup”
When Jermaine notices Bret has brought a new cup he questions how he could afford it. Bret says it only cost him $2.79 and they did need two cups since Jermaines cup roster meant Bret could never have a cup of tea at the same time as Jermaine. One month later and Jermaine is doing the bills, they’re electricity payment bounced because their account was overdrawn by $2.79, in turn their gas and phone bills bounced too. Their power goes out and now owe more money.
Bret sells his guitar but the gig doesn’t go very well, in a review written by Murray they only got two out of a hundred stars because they only had Jermaine’s ‘Dad’ guitar. They sell that too and now become “Flight of the No Chords” according to Murray’s newest review. They ask to use the emergency band fund but Murray has that tied up in an internet deal after he received an email from Nigeria offering to double their money for a short term investment.

Jermaine decides to become a prostitute but after failing to give Mel a massage they don’t do very well. Bret makes some “super straws” and sells them for a dollar each even though it costs him over five dollars to make them. In the next band meeting Jermaine is missing but there is a Nigerian fellow with them. Murray introduces him as the man he helped over the email and that the band fund is now doubled so they can afford to buy the instruments back. But Jermaine is off pimping himself out to people. Murray asks Bret to go save him but Jermaine doesn’t want to be saved, he’s about to have sex with a beautiful woman. Shame Bret brought the police with him and they wind up in jail. Murray has to bail them out with the emergency band fund and now they’re back at square one.

Hilarious. The songs are still taking a while to sink in with me in this season but the ‘Sugarlumps’ track was fun. I think they’re trying too hard to be funny with the songs. The second was done in a reggae style and I think they should try and stick to the folk music. Nevertheless Conchords never fails to make me laugh and the whole cup saga was just brilliant.

Episode 408 – “Chimdale”
Some girls are spying on Steve and his friends in the shower, ala Porkys but with the roles reversed. One shouts at him to get his curve sorted and Snot exclaims they’re talking about his back. Steve goes to the doctor and its confirmed he has scoliosis and needs to wear a back brace, a large steel contraption. Stan convinces him to go to school and no one will pick on him, but as soon as he arrives he is labelled different.

Steve leaves early and goes home, seeing his Dad is already there. He walks in to find Stan blow drying a wig, he is bald. Stan tells Steve that no one would like him if he were bald but Steve says that he has to stop wearing the wig if he wants Steve to wear the brace. Stan agrees and the next day comes home after being bullied, apparently. Steve goes to visit Stan at work the day after and sees he isn’t wearing his wig. He was lied too. Steve then steals Stan’s wig and runs off to Chimdale Health Spa where Hayley, Roger and Francine are relaxing after Roger won free tickets in a radio competition.

Only Roger only won two tickets and there are three of them at the spa. He sneaks Hayley in but the three of them become increasingly worried when the spa detective thinks their behaviour is suspicious. When Steve and Stan arrive at the spa Francine asks where his wig is, everyone but Steve and Stan knew he wore a wig and didn’t care after all. The spa cop finds out about Hayley and Francine but lets them get away with it if they help him solve a case of missing nuts. He figures it out and has finally become as good a detective as his father
It’s been a while since I last saw an American Dad episode and this wasn’t as bad as I remembered it being. Some funny parts in places but no horrendously laugh out loud moments. Although Francine and company took Klaus with them to the spa, he didn’t have a single line to say. Shame.

It’s not that I’ve forgotten that Desperate Housewives has returned moreso I haven’t had the time to offer my thoughts on it with several other things all on my plate at once. Rather than offer full recaps I’ll give you a quick run down of what happened.

Episode 512 – “Connect! Connect!”
After Edie throws Dave out he moves in with Mike and learns that Mike no longer loves Susan, instead he now feels in love with Katherine and doesn’t want her to move away to be with her daughter. Susan realises that she’s not in love with Jackson and tells him she isn’t going to move in with him. Dr. Alex tells Bree not to belittle Orson, at least not around him and they have an argument. They sort things out when Bree says she needs someone like Alex around her and for him not to take offence to her.

Lynette needs to get Porter away from her mother so fakes a car accident to bring them out of hiding. Lynette and her mother settle their differences and get a chance to move on as Porter agrees to appear in front of court.

Episode 513 – “The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened”
This has been one of the worst episodes of the season, merely a filler episode. It didn’t move the story along at all or offer anything substantial or new for us to digest. Instead it focuses on the life of Eli Scruggs who was a handyman on Wisteria Lane but he decides its time to retire. Everyone gets upset but he does one last job for Susan and dies on her roof. The gang then remember the times Eli has helped them out, which includes sleeping with Edie. The final flashback is where Eli first comes to Wisteria Lane and asks Mary Alice if she has any work needed doing. At first she dismisses him but when she sees he has a hole in his shoe she offers him work and recommends him to all the ladies on the street.

It was a poor and boring episode and one you can skip if you are playing catch up on us. Hopefully things will start to pick up pace again, now Dave knows Mike loves Katherine we expect him to go after her and kill her instead of Susan. This only leads to another season finale where Katherine is at the centre of an attack. Will that matter? Not really, Neal McDonough is doing a great job as Dave and I’m really into this character. Maybe they can figure out a way to keep him around, but the way the story is panning out at the moment, I doubt it.

I think the Housewives will be back this Sunday and I promise to get back into the more regular reports from now on.

So last year around Oscar time I happened to notice that a screening copy of Sweeny Todd had become available on the internet. This version would occasionally display messages that said “This is for award consideration only” or something to that sort. This week I read that all but three of this years Oscar nominations movies have been leaked onto the internet.

So what? Piracy is a big problem, there are always copies of the movies online somewhere. Yes, I would agree, but most of those are dodgy cam versions (I still wonder how people get away with it). But these versions come online with “award consideration” scrawled over them. Therefore there must be someone at the Oscars who are leaking these or showing them to people they’re not meant to.

If something as big as the Oscars is causing piracy I think we need to have a good long look at the current system and try to find a way out of it. Could releasing movies on DVD at the same time as releasing them at the cinema stop piracy? Possibly, but you’re always going to get people who would rather download a movie than pay to watch it and there’s nothing we can do to stop them other than close the internet. And no one wants that.

Check out http://waxy.org/2009/01/pirating_the_2009_oscars/ for some very interesting statistics.

Episode 501 – “Because You Left”
We open to an alarm clock going off at 8.15, a baby is crying. The woman in the bed tells her husband it’s his turn. He puts on a record, gives the baby a bottle and wakes up. The record skips, he walks outside, it’s the barracks. The man walks into a studio and puts on a white lab coat as he harshly dismisses his need for a script. It’s Marvin Candle and he’s filming the orientation film for station two, ‘The Arrow’ when a Dharma worker says they have a problem at the Orchid.

They have been trying to drill through a wall but every time they try their drill’s just melt, it seems impenetrable. They look at a sonar reading of the wall and say there is something behind there, we can see the frozen donkey wheel that Ben turned to move the island. Dr. Candle tells them not to do anything else, where there are contains great energy that will help them time travel. He storms off but is almost hit by another worker. The first and now second worker talk, the first refuses to believe in time travel, the second turns out to be Daniel Faraday, looking just like he did when we left him on the Zodiac.

We go back to the funeral parlour and Ben brings in a trolley with which to move Locke/Bentham. Jack asks how it happened and Ben says it happened because you left. Kate is feeding breakfast to Aaron when there is a knock at her door, it is Dan Norton an attorney who wants to get a blood sample from her and Aaron to determine if he is her son or not. She tells him to leave and he says he’ll only be back with the sheriff. Kate packs a bag and takes a load of cash and a gun from inside her wardrobe and tells Aaron they’re going on holiday.

At Heathrow Airport in London Sun is detained. Whilst locked in a room Charles Widmore enters and says he had her trapped because she had the audacity to confront him in public. But he is curious to know what their mutual interests might be and Sun says that’s to kill Benjamin Linus. Sayid and Hurley escape Santa Rosa and head to a safe house, but there are people waiting inside. Sayid throws one of them off the balcony, killing him, and has a fight with the other. He gets hit with a tranquilizer but managers to kill the second by dropping him onto the open dish-washer drawer with knives poking upwards.

Outside Hurley, holding a gun, looks over the balcony at the dead body below and the crowd that’s gathered, one of them takes a photo of Hurley on his phone. In another hotel room Ben is watching the news that Hurley is wanted for murder, he says recruiting the others is going to be harder than he thought.

On the island and Locke covers his eyes as the white light engulfs the island as Ben moves it. When its over it’s raining and Locke is on his own. On the Zodiac Daniel approaches the beach saying they must have been inside the radius as Bernard exclaims their camp has gone. Daniel returns saying its not gone, its not been built yet. He asks that they be taken to a landmark on the island and Juliette says the Swan hatch is only fifteen minutes from them. Locke walks up a hill and hears something, a plane it crashing above him, it’s the Beechcraft that Yemi was on.

Locke rushes to the site of the crash and calls out for any survivors. He starts climbing the vines when he is shot at, a bullet hits his leg and he crashes to the ground. Out of the jungle appears Ethan. Locke tries to reason with him saying he knows who he is and that Ben made Locke the leader of the Others. Ethan ridicules the idea and goes to shoot Locke when the white light engulfs them again. When its gone its night and Richard appears to Locke. Locke asks where he went and Richard said he didn’t go anywhere, Locke did. He pulls out the bullet and tells Locke that the next time they meet Richard isn’t going to recognise Locke so John needs to give Richard a compass.

Sawyer wants answers from Daniel about what’s going on but Dan says he couldn’t even explain it to a quantum physicist. Sawyer slaps him and tells “Ginger” (or Charlotte) she’ll get one too if she’s not careful. Daniel explains time is like a thread, you can go back and forth on it but you can never start a new one, therefore if something never happened in the past they can’t change it. Sawyer is determined to save his friends on the helicopter but Daniel says it can’t be done.

As they head back to the beach, Daniel stays behind. Charlotte gets a nosebleed and Daniel tells her everything will be OK. When she’s gone Daniel bangs on the hatch door until Desmond answers. Dan says Des is uniquely special, the rules don’t apply to him and he needs to go to Oxford and find Daniel’s mother. Desmond wakes up on a boat, he says he was on the island. Penny says he’s been off it three years, it was just a dream. Des says it wasn’t, it was a memory. He raises the anchor and says they have to leave, he needs to go to Oxford.

Episode 502 – “The Lie”
When the Oceanic Six first got onto Penny’s boat Jack said they needed to lie, we see the group discussing the lie and Hurley is uncomfortable with it. He wants to know why they can’t tell the truth and Jack says because no one would believe them. Hurley said if they all stuck to it then they’d believe them, they had to and asks for Sayids support. Sayid says he thinks they have to lie too and Hurley says its uncool, one day Sayid will need Hurley’s help and he’s not going to give it to him.

Three years later and Hurley is driving a knocked out Sayid somewhere when he is pulled over by the police. As he rolls down the window he sees it’s Ana Lucia who tells him he needs to be careful, to stay away from the police. She tells him to take Sayid somewhere safe and get out of those clothes. He agrees and Ana says Libby said hi. Hurley changes at a petrol station and takes Sayid home. At the same petrol station Kate appears, she goes to ring Jack but then hangs up when someone else rings her. She says she’ll meet them in twenty minutes.

Kate arrives at a penthouse room in a hotel where she is greeted by Sun. they talk and Sun shows Kate a picture of her daughter, she hopes one day her and Aaron can play together. Sun doesn’t blame Kate for Jin’s death. She tells her that whoever wanted a blood sample wanted Aaron so to be careful.

Jack and Ben go to a hotel and Jack shaves off his beard. Ben opens a vent and takes out something and puts it in his bag. He tells Jack to pack a suitcase with everything from this life he wants because he can never come back. Jack looks for his pills but Ben has flushed them, Jack says good, that’s what he was about to do. Ben goes to a butchers and asks Gill to take care of Locke’s body until he is ready for it. She says everything is moving on schedule but Ben says if she can’t look after Locke then all this will be pointless.

Hurley takes Sayid to his parents mansion and asks his Dad for help. His father was watching Expose when Hurley arrived. Hurley asks his Dad to take Sayid to Jack which he does and Hurley’s mum wants to know what happened. Hurley explains that they lied and what really happened on the island. She tells him she believes him, but doesn’t understand him. Later Ben appears in Hurley’s kitchen, he says he can make it all go away. He will take Hurley back to the island where he won’t have to lie but Hurley runs out and turns himself over to the police. He is arrested and smiles at Ben who can only grimace.

On the island Bernard tries to start a fire and Neil (“Frogurt”) gets impatient with him. Miles says he’s off to get dinner as Daniel returns. He says he needs to get a new bearing by working out when in time they are. Charlotte says she has a headache and couldn’t remember her mothers maiden name earlier (remember last season Daniel couldn’t remember three cards?) Charlotte realises that Daniel knows what’s wrong with her when Miles returns with a boar on his back. He says he found it and it had only died three hours ago.

Frogurt says it doesn’t matter because Bernard can’t even start a fire when suddenly a flaming arrow strikes him in the chest. The whole camp comes under fire and they flee for their lives, some being taken down by arrows. When they get to safety Juliette and Sawyer attempt to catch up to the others at the stream, Sawyer treads on something and when he pulls it out it appears to have torn half of his toe off. (The four toed statue maybe?) They hide when they hear people approaching but are captured by three men who we’ve never seen before.

The one whose labelled “Jones” asks Sawyer who they are and what they’re doing on their island. Sawyer tries to reason with him but Jones orders the others (named Mattingly and Cunningham) to chop off one of Juliette’s hands. Sawyer tries to fight back when Mattingly and Cunningham are knocked out by rocks and Jones is hit by a knife. Locke walks out of the jungle and says hello.

In a basement somewhere a hooded figure does sums similar to Faraday’s from his college campus on a chalk board. There is a Foucault Pendulum swinging and drawing lines across a map on the floor. A computer, not unlike those from the Dharma hatches blinks “Event Window Determined” and the figure walks upstairs. There Ben Linus is lighting candles in a church like setting. The figure is revealed as Ms. Hawking. She tells him he has seventy hours with which to return to the island with the Oceanic Six. He says he needs more time and she says he can’t have any. Ben asks what would happen if he couldn’t get them all, she says then “God help us all.”

Whoa, sorry I took so long to get that last report to you, I just never got around to writing it. Guess I was too in shock over the fact LOST starts TONIGHT!! So excited.

I kind of spoiled it for myself a bit by watching the extended sneak peaks on YouTube but I think this season is going to be incredible.

Pushing that button was important afterall.

Episode 412 – “There’s No Place Like Home Part 1”
In flash forwards we see just what happened when the Oceanic Six got off the island. They meet and greet their friends and family, Kate feeling left out and give a press conference. They say there were eight of them, Sayid, Kate, Jack, Hurley, Sun, Boone, Libby and Charlie but Boone died with internal injuries, Libby a week later and Charlie drowned a week before they found rescue. They were in the water for a day when the current took them to an island. On day 103 a typhoon washed up a survival kit and raft and by day 108 they had sailed to another island. In their time Kate gave birth to Aaron.

Hurley has a birthday party and his Dad has fixed up the old car but as they are about to go for a ride Hurley spots the mileage reads 4815162342 and he runs off. Sun tells her father he is one of the two people responsible for Jin’s death. Oceanic have paid their settlement and now she owns controlling stake in her fathers company. Jack has a ceremony for his father and afterwards Claries mum introduces herself and explains she is the reason his father was in Australia. She tells him he has a sister who was on his flight, Claire. Jack is shocked but so is Kate, who is holding Aaron. Claire’s mother says Aaron is beautiful and walks out.

On the island Jack goes after the signal on the satellite phone, on route he and Kate bump into Miles and Sawyer. Kate goes back to the beach with Aaron and Miles as Sawyer goes off with Jack, saying he doesn’t get to “die alone”. At the beach Sayid has arrived on the raft when Kate tells him what is going on. They run off into the jungle in search of Jack and Sawyer whilst Daniel ships the first group back to the freighter that includes Jin and Sun. On the freighter they meet up with Michael who wants to make up for his past.

Michael has got the engines working but there is something blocking signals underwater so they can’t see the reef, the driver says he isn’t going more than five miles off shore. As he looks for what is causing the signal block Des finds a massive pile of C4 that is primed and ready to blow.

On the island and Jack and Sawyer have found Lapidus handcuffed to the helicopter. They free him. Kate and Sayid find different tracks in the jungle that are doubling up behind them. They call out whoever is following them and out walks Richard Alpert. They are surrounded by Others and he walks them away. Locke, Hurley and Ben are headed for the Orchid station, when they get there Keamy and his team are already there. Ben tells Locke what to do and he walks right into the station and gives himself up. Keamy knocks Ben out.

Episode 413 – “There’s No Place Like Home Part 2”
Ben has given himself up and is being escorted by Keamy and company to the helicopter. Jack and Sawyer catch up to Locke at the Orchid, Locke tries to explain to Jack that he is on the island for a reason, he asks him to reconsider leaving. Jack laughs this off and tells him that he is leaving the island so Locke asks him to lie, it’s the only way to protect the island. Jack tells Hurley they’re going to the helicopter and Hurley says that’s just where the army dudes have gone.

At the helicopter Kate comes running out of the jungle, she runs straight into Keamy and says who she is and that she’s running from Ben’s people. The troops fan out but are attacked by the Others, they all die and Kate releases Ben. Ben asks Richard what the arrangement was and agrees to let Sayid and Kate go. Ben returns to the Orchid to find Jack talking to Locke, Ben tells him he can leave.

At the beach and Daniel has come back for a second wave of people, he really wants Charlotte and Miles on the raft but they both choose to stay. Miles and Charlotte talk, he is surprised that she isn’t more keen to stay considering how hard she’d tried to get back here. Charlotte tells Daniel she isn’t going as she has been searching for the place she was born. Daniel asks Juliette is she wants to come but she too is going to stay until he gets back. On the freighter and Michael, Jin and Desmond are trying to defuse the bomb but aren’t having much luck. They freeze the battery but they’ve not got a lot of liquid nitrogen left.

Back at the Orchid and Ben shows Locke the orientation film. The station is about time travel and Locke can’t believe it. Ben starts piling metallic objects into the vault when Keamy arrives. He says they should have taken a headshot as his vest has seen some action. He says he’s wearing a “dead mans trigger”, a heart rate monitor hooked up to a bomb on the freighter, should his heard stop the bomb goes boom. Locke appears and tells Keamy he has no argument with him when Ben jumps Keamy and stabs him in the neck screaming that he killed his daughter. Locke says to Ben he’s just killed everyone on the freighter and Ben says “so what?”

Episode 414 – “There’s No Place Like Home Part 3”
On the freighter the bomb’s light turns red but thanks to the liquid nitrogen the bomb doesn’t go off. Desmond runs off to warn people to get off the boat but the helicopter is arriving. He signals to send it away but Frank lands because he needs fuel. They panic, patching up the holes as best they can and refuelling. Sun gets on the helicopter as does Desmond but Jin is still with Michael. He tells him that he’s going to be a father and needs to go but Frank has already taken off. Michael hears the whispers and Christian Sheppard appears to him, he tells Michael he can go now. When the helicopter is a safe distance away the ship explodes.

On the island and Sawyer swims out of the ocean like an advert for Davidoff Cool Water. Juliette is drinking Dharma Rum and he asks her what’s she’s celebrating. She says she’s not and gestures towards the smoke on the horizon. Sawyer asks if that’s their boat, she says it was.

In the orchid and Locke wants to know why Ben killed Keamy and all the innocent people on the freighter. Ben says it was a bad decision and his grief over Alex clouded his judgement, he tells Locke he hopes he’ll do a better job as leader of the Others. He explains that moving the island comes with a price, he’ll never be able to return to the island. They shake hands and Ben goes through the hole in the back of the wall of the vault and along a passageway to a ladder that descends. At the bottom is a icy patch, Ben smashes this and continues to go down. One of the rungs snaps and Ben falls, cutting his arm. His condition is exactly the same as when he arrived in the Sahara Desert in “EPISODE”.

In this icy room there is a large wheel, frozen. Ben frees it and begins to turn it, he tells Jacob he hopes he’s happy now and pushes the wheel around looking upset. A noise starts and light begins to emit. All over the island people can hear a noise and see a bright white light. On the helicopter they watch as the white light engulfs the island and it vanishes. Without fuel the chopper is going down. Sayid throws the life raft out the window and the copter crashes. They manage to survive and make it to the raft.

They float around in silence until Hurley says Locke did it, he moved the island. Jack rubbishes the idea and they argue. A ship appears, it’s Penny’s boat! Des and Penny are reunited and Jack tells them all they have to lie. Jack talks to Penny and a week later the Oceanic Six leave the boat with the well concocted story. Des and Frank stay on Pennys boat.

The flash forwards take place directly after that in “Through The Looking Glass”, after Jack screamed they had to go back. Kate reverses the car and shouts at him for wanting to go back, for calling her and for believing Jeremy Bentham. Jack says he believed her because it was the only way to protect her and Aaron. Kate leaves. In Santa Rosa an older Walt comes to visit Hurley, he says Jeremy Bentham came to visit him but no one else. Hurley apologises and says no one visited as they needed to protect the people on the island. Walt asks “like my dad?” and Hurley gives a nervous yes.

Sayid too comes to visit Hurley, he kills a man in the parking lot and breaks into his room. He explains that circumstances have changed and that Bentham is dead. Hurley wants to call him by his real name but Sayid refuses to let him. Hurley goes with Sayid but not before moving a chess piece and saying “Checkmate, Mr. Eko”. Sun goes to London and goes to see Charles Widmore. She says they both have a common interest and for him to call her should he wish to cooperate with her.

Kate hears the whispers and runs into Aarons room where Claire is looking over her son. She screams at Kate not to dare take him back. Jack breaks into the funeral parlour at night, he opens the coffin and steps back. Ben arrives. He says there may be a way to go back to the island but they all need to go not just the two of them. Jack agrees and they go to leave, but Ben says that they all have to go back, including the man in the coffin. It is revealed that the man in the coffin is John Locke.

Season Four Questions
- Where did the island go?
- Who is this Matthew Abaddon chap?
- Why were Frank, Daniel, Charlotte, Miles and Naomi the ones hand picked?
- Is Jin dead?
- How will they get back?

Episode 408 – “Meet Kevin Johnson”
Sayid and Desmond confront Michael on the freighter and want to know what he’s doing there. He explains that he’s working for Ben and in a flashback we see how he came to be on the boat. Back in Manhattan, Michael is no longer living with Walt. He writes him a letter and then goes and smashes his car into a brick wall. At the hospital Michael thinks he sees Libby but she’s not there. He then goes to get a gun and shoot himself when Tom turns up. They fight and Tom says the island won’t let Michael die, he still has work to do and that he should come see him.

When Michael sees the wreckage of Flight 815 on the news he goes to see Tom who is indulging himself with a male partner. He explains that Charles Widmore put the dummy wreckage at the bottom of the ocean so people would stop looking for the real one and accidently stumble upon the island. He shows him a file with graves of all the bodies taken and a payment for a aeroplane. Tom tells Michael to go onto a boat and kill everyone. Once Michael finally gets the courage to blow the ship up the bomb he was given has a note that says “not yet” and he gets a call from Ben.

Ben tells Michael there are innocent people on board and unlike Charles Widmore he doesn’t kill innocent people. He tells Michael to sabotage the boat so it’ll never find the island and compile a list of names. We catch up and Sayid decides to turn Michael in to the Captain as a traitor and a survivor of Flight 815.

On the island Locke calls a meeting where they discuss everything with Ben. He reveals his spy is Michael and they plan their next step. Ben takes Alex aside and tells her she needs to be safe, the people coming to the island will use her to get to him so she needs to go to the Temple. Danielle takes Alex and Karl but on the way they are attacked. Karl and Danielle are shot dead but Alex pleads for mercy screaming she’s Ben’s daughter.

Episode 409 – “The Shape of Things To Come”
