In Translation
Repeating footage already? We get our second Jin and Sun flashback and start with Jin asking Mr. Paik if he can marry his daughter. He is granted this but only if Jin will work for Mr. Paik. They get married and everything seems happy until Mr. Paik asks Jin to send a message to one of the governors who is keeping his factory closed. Naïve Jin goes to deliver the message literally and leaves a scared but unscathed governor apologising. Jin walks away with a dog the same dog he gives Sun.
Jin is called away from a romantic dinner and repreimanded by Suns Dad for not delivering the proper message. He sends Jin and an associated off to send another message but Jin jumps in first and beats the governor down, telling him he saved his life as the associate holsters his gun and walks away. Jin goes home to Sun with blood on his hands and we see the same scene again. We learn that here Jin and Sun didnt speak to each other for a long time.
On the island Michael is building his raft and Sawyer has booked himself a seat on it by offering up cabling. Sun is in a bathing costume about to go into the sea when Jin stops her and starts shouting. Michael intervenes but only gets a slap from Sun, Jin suspects Sun is getting close to Michael. Then the raft goes up in flames and of course everyone suspects Jin. Sawyer finds him with burns on his hands and beats him up. He takes him to the beach where Michael lays into him, Sun screams in English for him to stop, everyone is surprised.
Jin gives Sun the silent treatment and Walt offers to help his Dad rebuild the raft. Sun wants to start again but Jin says its too late. He then appears with Michael and is going to help build the boat. Walt is playing checkers when Locke appears, he asks Walt why he burnt the raft and Walt says he didnt want to leave the island.
Sayid talks to Boone about how close he and Shannon are getting and Boone offers a word of warning. Sayid acts cold to Shannon who goes off to shout at Boone but gets Locke instead. Locke tells her that everyone got a second chance of life on this island and by shouting at Boone all shes doing is giving him what he wants, attention. So Shannon goes off to Sayid and they kiss. Hurley walks on the beach listening to his CD player but the batteries die and he is left alone. Aww.
