AMC released a teaser trailer for Season 2 of The Walking Dead during last night’s Breaking Bad premiere. While it doesn’t offer much insight into next season’s plot, it does supply what every fan is eagerly anticipating: Sheriff Rick Grimes killing zombies!
The show’s executive producer and creator of the comic series, Robert Kirkman, was more forthcoming about what to expect in Season 2 in a Q&A with The Hollywood Reporter.
“The first season was all about being in the city, and dealing with zombies in the streets,” he told THR. “The second season is about zombies in the woods and what’s behind the next tree. It’s a much more rural setting,” which is in keeping with the comics he created.
And, while all the favorite Season 1 characters will be returning, we’ll also be seeing some new faces.
“We’re going to be seeing Otis, Hershel and Maggie, all characters from the comic book series. And possibly some more surprises before the end of the season. It should be pretty exciting.”
Kirkman will be promoting The Walking Dead and his other projects at Comic Con in San Diego this Saturday. The Walking Dead returns to AMC in October.
