Episode 216 – “The Whole Truth”
In flashbacks we see Sun and Jin argue over what Jin has to do to be with Sun, how he comes home with blood on his hands just so he can stay with Sun. He thinks a baby would change things, that if Mr. Paik had a grandson, perhaps he’d give Jin safer work. All this is redundant as they’ve been trying for a year and had no luck. They resort to going to a fertility clinic where Sun is told she’s a mess inside and could never have children.

Upset Sun confides in Jae Lee her problems and how she is going to leave Jin and go to America. Jae Lee tells her she can leave Jin and stay with him if she wanted. Whilst walking her dog Sun is stopped by the doctor who tells her he lied to her, it’s Jin who can’t have children, not her. He just couldn’t say anything before for fear Jin would burn his practice down.

On the island Jin is angry Sun is in her garden alone after what happened days earlier and tears the garden apart. Sun walks off alone and feels a bit funny, she goes to see Sawyer, she needs….a pregnancy test! Asking Kate for support she takes the test and it says she’s pregnant, they ask Jack and he confirms it. After Sawyer tells Bernard about what’s happened whilst he’s fishing with Jin, Jin walks off and re-plants Sun’s garden.

He apologises to her and Sun tells Jin the truth, she’s pregnant and that the doctor said it was him who could not conceive. She promises she’s been faithful and Jin believes it’s a miracle.

Elsewhere Locke asks Ana Lucia to speak to Henry, he draws her a map to his balloon and she takes it to Sayid, without telling Locke and Jack because “they’re too busy worrying about Jack and Locke”. With Charlie they set off in search of the balloon but when they get there they find nothing on first look. Ana asks they search a bit harder because she doesn’t want to make a mistake.

Back at the hatch Jack lets Henry out for some breakfast and Henry thinks he bought himself some good behaviour for drawing the map. He then finds out that Jack and Locke don’t know about it so says that if he were an other, he would lead Ana Lucia to a secluded place where his people would be waiting for him then they’d trade her for him. He says it’s a good job he’s not one of them but the seed of doubt has now been planted.
